Health & Safety Coordinator (SiGeKo) - Energy Infrastructure Project

Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator (SiGeKo) to support an energy infrastructure project through both the planning and construction phases.
You will ensure full compliance with German health & safety regulations, support the project team on all HSE matters, and oversee safe execution on site.
Key responsibilities
Planning phase
- Review pre-construction information with the project team
- Ensure environmental and safety requirements are addressed (e.g. tree and water protection)
- Support coordination with authorities
- Provide early-stage safety input into design and planning
Documentation
- Prepare and maintain all required HSE documentation, including:
- Pre-notification (Vorankündigung)
- SiGe plan
- Documentation for future maintenance/works
- Report regularly to the client
Construction phase
- Conduct regular site inspections
- Monitor compliance with safety standards
- Oversee high-risk activities (e.g. lifting operations, commissioning)
- Participate in audits and official inspections
Handover / operations
- Develop and maintain a complete safety file for future site operations
- Document hazards, access routes, installations, and structural risks
Requirements
- Certified SiGeKo / Health & Safety Coordinator under German regulations
- Several years of HSE experience on construction sites
- Ideally background in energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Strong experience with safety documentation (SiGe plan, etc.)
- Proven track record in site inspections and audits
- Experience working with authorities and external inspectors
- In-depth knowledge of German HSE regulations
- Structured, independent working style with strong communication skills
- Fluent German and good English
