The role:
Reporting to the F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Manager the post holder will be undertaking a range of manufacturing/fabrication activities on aircraft components. The post holder requires a basic understanding of the construct of the approved Technical Information set and is competent to work to maintenance
instructions with support and in accordance with the organisation's MOE. The post holder will demonstrate the ability to follow approved Technical Information and work effectively within a team, in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The role holder will conduct varied machining and fabricating tasks across a range of products, machinery and materials, within the scope of your approvals and responsibilities, covering the full lifecycle of the build and repair programmes from detail manufacturing to assemblies, expertly applying your understanding of machining whilst adhering to SHE, Quality and all other internal and external compliancy requirements and standards.
Requirements
A 'time served' full Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship which has been formally certificated by a national Awarding Organisation and must be at appropriate a Level 2 NVQ.
· Machine Drilling and Reaming
· Milling
· Grinding
· Familiarity with metals (i.e. steel, aluminium, titanium) and their properties
· Cutting and Shaping, using relevant tools to shape materials
· Using calipers, micrometres and measures to ensure accuracy.
