GCS Commissioning Manager - Data Centres
We are supporting a major international engineering and construction business delivering hyperscale and mission critical data centre projects across Europe in their search for an experienced GCS Commissioning Manager to join their Frankfurt operations.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong background in electrical commissioning, energisation, and integrated systems testing within large-scale data centre environments.
The business is currently delivering multiple high-value projects across Germany and offers long-term progression within one of Europe's fastest-growing sectors.
The Role
As GCS Commissioning Manager, you will take ownership of the commissioning delivery strategy across complex mission critical projects, managing commissioning teams, subcontractors, OEMs, and client interfaces through to successful energisation and handover.
You will play a key role in driving programme, safety, technical quality, and commissioning execution on fast-paced hyperscale developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning activities across large-scale data centre projects
- Manage commissioning engineers, vendors, and specialist subcontractors
- Oversee energisation, IST, and system turnover processes
- Coordinate electrical and mechanical commissioning activities
- Drive commissioning schedules in line with project milestones
- Interface directly with clients, consultants, and senior project stakeholders
- Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered safely and compliantly
- Support testing procedures, documentation, and final handover
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering commissioning on hyperscale or mission critical data centres
- Strong background in electrical systems and energisation
- Experience managing commissioning teams on complex projects
- Understanding of integrated systems testing (IST)
- Ability to work within fast-track construction environments
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
- Previous experience working for an EPC, M&E contractor, or specialist commissioning business preferred
