Sheet Metal Worker - Govan
We are looking for experienced Sheet Metal Workers to carry out fabrication, assembly, and installation activities within a heavy engineering environment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from fabrication and installation drawings.
- Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and fitting activities using a range of hand tools and techniques.
- Follow manufacturing processes and maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to resolve practical production issues.
- Maintain quality standards and work within specified tolerances.
- Support the development of apprentices by sharing trade knowledge and best practices.
- Adapt to evolving technologies, drawings, and industry work practices.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and associated trade practices.
- Understanding of quality standards and work tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication and installation drawings.
- Strong hand skills for assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong SHE risk awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
- Effective communication, reliability, and practical problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications:
- Recognised trade papers/apprenticeship certification.
- Relevant safety certifications, such as SHE induction, COSHH awareness, Working at Height, or equivalent.
