AGE Driver / Logistics Support Operative
The Role
Our client is seeking an AGE Driver / Logistics Support Operative to support a busy defence engineering environment. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe movement and delivery of specialist ground support equipment, tooling and operational assets across site, ensuring equipment is delivered efficiently to support ongoing engineering and maintenance activities.
This is a hands-on logistics role requiring excellent organisation, safe driving practices and the ability to work independently within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport specialist equipment, tooling and operational assets across site.
- Prioritise deliveries to meet operational requirements and customer demand.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance and logistics teams to ensure equipment is delivered on time.
- Maintain accurate transport and equipment records.
- Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment care.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability and confidence to tow equipment.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good IT literacy and accurate record-keeping ability.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within logistics, manufacturing, engineering or defence environments.
- Experience operating site vehicles or specialist ground support equipment.
- Understanding of working within a safety-critical or highly regulated environment.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of this position, applicants must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). Please note that employment cannot commence until the required clearance has been granted.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
- Friday: 07:30 - 12:00
- 37 hours per week
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break (Monday to Thursday)
- Start and finish times may vary slightly in line with operational requirements.
