Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Data Centre

Germany | Permanent | Up to €100,000

A major international engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join a large-scale data centre project in Germany.

This is a hands-on commissioning role for an engineer who wants to be on site, close to the systems and involved in taking complex mechanical infrastructure from installation through testing, commissioning and handover.

With a strong pipeline of projects secured for the next 5+ years, this is a genuine long-term opportunity within a growing European data centre operation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

  • Review IFC drawings, specifications and technical submittals

  • Support commissioning plans, methodologies and sequencing

  • Coordinate with package engineers, planners, vendors and site teams

  • Prepare and review commissioning checklists, scripts and test packs

  • Witness functional testing and verify system performance

  • Support walkdowns, tag walks and system inspections

  • Track commissioning progress, snags and close-out

  • Support system handover, O&M documentation and client training

  • Identify issues early and escalate commissioning risks

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical commissioning experience within complex construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, LTHW, ventilation and pressurisation systems

  • Understanding of commissioning processes, sequencing and system interfaces

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, site-based environment

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple disciplines

  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail

Data centre experience is a major advantage, but strong mechanical commissioning experience from other mission-critical or technically complex environments will be considered.

Why Apply?

  • Up to €100,000 salary

  • Permanent position in Germany

  • Major data centre projects

  • 5+ years of secured work

  • International project environment

  • Career development and progression opportunities

  • Opportunity to work on technically advanced projects

  • Strong overall package

If you're a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer who wants to work on major data centre projects, take real ownership on site and build a long-term career in commissioning, let's talk.
