Electronics Design Engineer

Broad Oak based (Hybrid Working)
£81.90 per hour Umbrella inside IR35
12 Month Contract

Currently recruiting for a Electronics Design Engineer to work within one of the Uks leading defence organisations in Broad Oak. Hybrid working, 3-4 days per week on site.

Knowledge:

  • Generating component level electronic designs for introduction into volume production.
  • Digital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet etc.
  • ADC/DAC devices and techniques
  • Analogue design including op-amps, transistor-level design, control loops and and low noise techniques.
  • High power techniques.
  • Design proving, integration, and defect resolution
  • Gathering of evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.
  • Able to work within cost and timescale constraints

Skills:

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment.
  • Experience of low-noise analogue techniques
  • Experience of high power techniques (kW level)
  • Experience of FPGA/CPLD development
  • Business Expertise (Requirements of the position for knowledge and expertise about the business rather than the technical expertise)
  • The role holder:
  • Will have a good understanding of how own activities integrate into the activities of a design team plus an understanding of the work of the design team.
  • Will have a good understanding of how own design team integrates with other parts of the product design
  • Will have an awareness of how cost and timescale constraints may impact business performance
  • Leadership (Requirements of the position for providing leadership and guidance to others)
  • The role holder:
  • Is responsible for quality of own work and safety of self.
  • May be required to mentor and coach team members according to seniority of appointment.
  • Problem Solving (Breadth of mental skills required in order to perform the position)
