Electrical Design Engineer - Data Centres
Location: Dublin or Limerick, Ireland
Salary: €72,500 per annum
Travel: Domestic and international travel required
Looking to develop your electrical design career on large-scale data centre projects?
We're recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering hyperscale and mission-critical projects. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, supporting the design and delivery of complex electrical systems.
The role
You'll contribute to electrical designs from development through to delivery, working closely with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing electrical power distribution systems, alongside associated controls, ICT, security and fire detection systems.
Producing technical calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation.
Supporting electrical system studies, design reviews and value engineering.
Coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines.
Ensuring designs meet relevant regulations, EN/IEC standards and project requirements.
Resolving technical queries with clients, vendors and contractors.
What we're looking for
A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Typically 3-5 years' experience in electrical design.
A strong understanding of electrical power systems and design principles.
Experience in data centres, pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities or other mission-critical environments.
Knowledge of relevant Irish electrical requirements, BS 7671 and EN/IEC standards.
Experience with relevant design or analysis software, such as Amtech, ETAP, EPLAN, AutoCAD or Revit/Navisworks.
Strong communication skills and confidence working within multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Previous data centre experience would be advantageous, as would professional membership or progress towards chartership.
