As a key member of the US Tax Team, your expertise will be pivotal in managing a portfolio of high-profile clients, ensuring their US tax compliance and advisory needs are met with precision and excellence. The role also provides the unique opportunity to mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior leadership on intricate technical matters.
The Role
The US Individual Tax Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Manage a portfolio of US individual tax clients
- Oversee the preparation and filing of US federal and state tax returns
- Review individual US tax returns across a varied private client base
- Deliver both compliance and advisory services
- Conduct technical research and provide practical advice
- Stay up to date with US tax legislation
- Build and maintain client and internal relationships
- Support and mentor junior staff
The Person:
The successful candidate must have the following:
- 5+ years' experience in US personal tax
- EA or CPA qualified (or studying)
- Strong technical knowledge of US tax
- Experience with US tax treatment of UK income and investments
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Experience reviewing work and mentoring juniors
Any additional experience in the following areas would be desirable:
- Experience with foreign companies and partnerships
- ATT or CTA qualification
- Dual-handler experience (US/UK tax)
