EC&I Engineer - Contract
Location: Cumbria - Sellafield
Rate: £45 per hour
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract Duration: 6 months initial
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an EC&I Design Engineer to support an established engineering company working on projects across Cumbria, including Sellafield.
The role will involve working closely with Senior Designers to produce and update CAD drawings, assist with technical documentation and undertake site surveys.
We are looking for someone with an EC&I background who is confident using CAD software and comfortable working both in an office environment and on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside Senior Designers to produce and update EC&I drawings using CAD software.
- Carry out CAD drafting and drawing modifications in line with engineering requirements.
- Attend Sellafield to undertake site surveys and gather technical information.
- Review existing drawings and update documentation to reflect site conditions.
- Assist with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and instrumentation drawings.
- Support the preparation of as-built drawings and technical documentation.
- Liaise with Senior Designers and site engineers to clarify drawing requirements.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and maintained in line with project requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an EC&I, Electrical CAD or engineering drawing role.
- Confident using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Basic understanding of electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
- Experience producing or modifying technical drawings.
- Ability to interpret existing engineering drawings and documentation.
- Comfortable attending operational sites and undertaking site surveys.
- Must be based in Cumbria.
- Must hold active SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working at Sellafield or within the nuclear industry.
- Experience producing electrical and instrumentation drawings.
- Background working alongside engineering design teams.
- Experience with as-built drawings and engineering documentation.
