Working closely with the EHS Manager, Project Managers and site teams, you'll provide practical guidance, maintain EHS management systems and ensure safe working practices are embedded throughout delivery.

The role

  • Lead day-to-day EHS activities, supporting management, supervisors, employees and subcontractors.
  • Develop, implement and review project-specific EHS plans, inductions and risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Carry out site inspections and internal audits, agreeing corrective actions and tracking them through to completion.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver inductions, training and safety briefings, identifying additional training needs.
  • Monitor subcontractor competence, appointments and compliance with project EHS requirements.
  • Produce clear reports on EHS performance, KPIs, risks and trends.
  • Maintain site safety records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, client requirements and company procedures.
  • Work with clients, main contractors and project teams to promote a proactive safety culture.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years' EHS experience in construction or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and civil, structural and architectural (CSA) works, ideally.
  • An Occupational Health & Safety qualification at NFQ Level 8 and an Environmental Management qualification at NFQ Level 6.
  • Internal auditor qualifications covering ISO 14000 and ISO 45000 management systems.
  • Experience with construction regulations, CDM responsibilities and subcontractor management.
  • A strong background in EHS management systems, audits and compliance reporting.
  • Confidence leading incident investigations and applying root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence teams at all levels.
  • IOSH membership or equivalent.
  • Relevant site safety and training credentials, including Safe Pass/CSCS, First Aid and Train the Trainer.

Experience with schemes such as Achilles and SSIP, alongside EHS input into tendering, would also be valuable.
