EHS Advisor - Data Centre Construction
Germany | €80,000-€90,000 | Full-Time | Site-Based
Know your way around a busy construction site? Confident challenging unsafe practices and getting subcontractors on board?
JAM Recruitment is supporting an engineering contractor looking for an EHS Advisor to join its data centre project team in Germany.
You'll work closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors, helping teams plan and deliver complex M&E works safely. This is a hands-on role with real involvement in daily site activity, from mobilisation through installation, energisation and handover.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out site inspections, audits and safety observations, following corrective actions through to completion.
Reviewing risk assessments, method statements and subcontractor safety documentation.
Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and practical safety briefings.
Supporting Permit-to-Work, isolation and LOTO processes.
Monitoring high-risk activities, including lifting operations, work at height, hot works and electrical/mechanical installation.
Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventing repeat issues.
Supporting compliance with German site safety requirements and client EHS standards.
Maintaining EHS records, reporting performance and supporting emergency planning.
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, EHS or a related discipline.
Previous construction or engineering EHS experience, with confidence working alongside subcontractors and site delivery teams.
Practical experience with audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
The ability to challenge unsafe work constructively and build strong relationships on site.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Experience that would stand out
Data centres, M&E, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or other technically complex construction projects.
Previous work in Germany and familiarity with German safety requirements.
German language skills.
NEBOSH, IOSH or comparable safety training; Sifa qualification would also be advantageous.
Experience supporting safe energisation, Permit-to-Work and LOTO.
Data centre experience is an advantage, but relevant experience in complex construction environments will also be considered.
You'll gain exposure to major mission-critical projects and work directly with the teams responsible for delivering them safely.
